ACUPUNCTURE FOR VETERANS
ACUPUNCTURE COVERAGE FOR VETERANS
Acupuncture coverage is available for Veterans to receive acupuncture treatment to ease the many symptoms that they must deal with on a daily basis. Even the copay is waived so there is no out-of-pocket costs to the Veteran. There are a few things you have to do to take advantage of this benefit:
1. A referral is required from your VA Medical Doctor: If you are a Veteran or know a Veteran who is in need of alternative medical care for your symptom relief, contact the VA to discuss your health concerns and request a referral for acupuncture. We are a participating Veterans Choice Program provider.
2. Once you have the acupuncture referral from the VA, you can select our clinic and call or email us to make an appointment. If you arent sure what to do, we can help you navigate the proper steps in getting you the pain relief and care you need.
VETERANS CHOICE PROGRAM (VCP)
In August 2014, President Obama signed into law the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act (VACAA) of 2014, which directed the establishment of a new program to better meet the health care needs of our Nation's Veterans.
The law directs the establishment of a Veterans Choice Program that provides a commitment on behalf of this Nation that needed health care services or treatment for Veterans will never again be unreasonably delayed because VA's wait times are too long or if a VA medical facility is too far from a Veteran's home.
